SO MUCH FOR GOLF’S CORE VALUES

It seems a Louisiana man was arrested yesterday after being caught stealing around $6,000 from the golf course he worked at over the past 3 years. Of course he’s also a teacher at Nicholls State, which makes this a bit humorous since he was supposedly an bright educator type guy.

James Schilling, 35, is accused of taking $6,465.25 over the course of several years from the Bayou Country Club in Thibodaux. Schilling is the golf pro at the country club. He has also taught at Nicholls for 13 years.

Detectives received a tip on Dec. 1 that money was missing from the country club. An investigation revealed Schilling took money through cash receipts starting in 2007, according to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre.

Webre said there is no indication the money was used in any way in connection with his position at the university.

What kills me is how some folks simply don’t respect ACCOUNTING…which is usually what gets you caught. hey, maybe he isn’t really a golfer, but a closet hockey player or something. So he doesn’t have golf’s ‘core values’. Just a thought.

Ok, ok…That’s John Daly. It just seemed like the right picture for the story.

Man, “Being John Daly”? Ouch, painful just to look at, can’t bear to think about ‘being’ him…
