ANOTHER PRETTY COOL URBAN SPORT: Having been married to a Sicilian for a while, I am definitely a fan of any kind of bocce. It’s a simple, easy, safe sport to play virtually anywhere, but here’s the catch. Instead of using hard, dangerous bocce balls, they are using a version of hacky sacks. But my question is – is it cross-bocce or bocce-cross.
HOW DO THEY PLAY? Basically it’s taking hacky sack balls and creating street bocce. I like that name better. Street Bocce. This is a true urban sport because just like pitching pennies or playing hacky sack in a courtyard, you can play Cross Bocce virtually anywhere and it’s completely community safe.
